Red Light Therapy

Low Level Laser Therapy is a treatment that harnesses infrared and visible red light energy to help the body’s natural healing processes at the cellular level. There is strong evidence to suggest that LLLT acts on the mitochondria to increase adenosine tri- phosphate (ATP) production.

We can use LLLT either directly on the affected area or indirectly as a photonic acupuncture on the acu points on the horses meridian lines. For laser acupuncture (lower wavelength 635 nm, 660nm) can be used as these are readily absorbed by the body.

The Laser used is a LLLT laser with different pulse frequencies and depths measured in nanometers. The strongest and the deepest penetration comes with the 904nm and reaches deeper in the muscle tissue. This can be used for edeama or direct muscle problems and reaches deeper muscle tissue and tendons.
